    The Body Image Scale consists of seven gender-specific figures in ascending order of adiposity, which correspond with actual sex-adjusted body mass index (BMI) categories, including underweight, normal weight, overweight and obesity. Using the same figures, children’s satisfaction with their body size was also assessed.

    Assessment of body fat. Skinfold thickness can noninvasively and reliably be measured at various sites of the body using a skinfold caliper. Based on measurements at multiple sites of the body, the total body fat and contribution of fat to the body mass can be estimated.
